Family fun in the sun.
This time we picked Palma Nova. A holiday resort close to the capital of Majorca. Palma. We visited that city later in the week.

Day1 Tuesday 8TH Apr 
​We flew into Palma airport just after 1.00am. After collecting our cases we walked to our transfer. The bus journey didn't take that long
and we arrived at the Cabau Aquasol. Our base for seven days.
After we checked in, we went straight to our room.

Hotel was perfect for what we needed. Breakfast was fine. We only used the entertainment twice. Beatles tribute band was good.
​Only downside was the noise from outside. We called it the submarine noise. Constant loud peeping noise. 

Day2 Wednesday 9th Apr
Palma Nova 
Today we decided to explore our base. First impressions were good. Lovely sandy beach. Lots of places to eat and drink. Shops, shops and more bloody shops. Lots of places for the kids to play.

Palma Nova has three separate ‘Blue Flag’ beach areas, Playa de Palmanova, Playa Son Matias and Playa Es Carregador.

We enjoyed a couple of drinks in here.

Day3 Thursday 10th Apr Magalof 

Magaluf is one of the most famous beach resorts in Europe. In the past couple of decades, big efforts have been made in a bid to shed the cheap and cheerful party town image to a more affluent area.  Now that is a big job. Looks nothing has changed.

Day4 Friday 11th  Portals Nous----------------------

We started by walking along the specially made walkway.
Exercise equipment along the route.

The plan was to go to a beach next to Palma Nova. So we kept walking till we saw a path down to the sea. I asked an American woman how to get to the beach. We followed her instructions. Down the steps and across a small stream. Then we got to the beach you see below.  

After some time on the beach, we decided to get some lunch.
We seen this restaurant. We opened the gate, and we all walked in.  

Little did we know it was the back gate to Marineland.

25 Euro s entrance for some.

Good time was had by all. After that we had lunch down at the Marina. 

Back to Magaluf for dinner tonight. Italian

Day5 Saturday 12th​
​Palma 
We took 104 bus to Majorca's capital. We walked a around like tourist do. Enjoying sites. Lots to see. We enjoyed the buskers in la Ramba.

'La Seu', as it's known among the locals, is a symbol of the city as well as of the island. It's also one of the most spectacular Gothic-style cathedrals in the world, with its impressive view of the sea. It has a large rose window. ​

Day6  Sunday  13th Apr 
​Palma Nova 

Where it all happened. 3folk pile up.

It was like Beachers brook in the Grand National. Mrs B fell,Yvonne followed on and young Carson ended up on top. Funny but soar. 

Please note to take plenty of jackets/hoodies for at night. In April it is a bit chilly at night. I made the mistake of only bringing one.
​Had to wear it every night. 

Day7   Monday 14th Apr
​ Santa Ponsa 
Day before departure. Took the local taxi from Palma Nova to the main beach. Nice beach. We took a walk along the seashore. Lovely hotels right on the front. The path took us into the main strip along to the Square. 
This area is full of Irish bars. If that's not your idea of being in Spain I would give it a bye. 

The rest of the resort is fine. We enjoyed a drink in the sunshine before getting a taxi back to our hotel.
​Taxi was 7 euros there and 7 euros back.

Day 8   Tuesday15 Apr
Homeward bound. Afternoon departure. So, we had a couple of hours to have our last wander around our resort.
